Valor Alum Sydne Porter Owns A Christian Management Firm

Sydne Porter (Scott) '11 is the CEO and Co-Founder of Identify Creative Group. Her business is a Christian artist and business management firm. She started this business in April of 2019 with a business partner. Sydne never dreamed of being an artist manager but God had a plan for her. She grew up listening to Christian music and wished that there were better options in those genres that were sonically equivalent to the genres you might find in secular music. After college, she worked as an office manager for a gospel singer, then moved up to the management team, which gave her the experience she needed to help launch her business. She currently has 5 full-time clients that she and her team help with label deals, scheduling tours, festival slots, and brand opportunities. Some of the artists she has worked with include Dante Bowe, Joe L Barnes, Naomi Raine, and Chandler Moore. She loves the fast-paced nature of this industry and being able to share the gospel through music with so many people. Sydne told us her favorite kind of artist to work with is someone who is genuinely unafraid of what anyone thinks of them or their music/art. She also enjoys working with artists who have pure and authentic intentions. While her goal as a manager is to help them be successful, she says, "It makes it a lot easier when you know that they have a pure heart behind the music they're putting out and aren't only in it for the money or success."
